Wick'ed
Burbank, California
Status unknown. No reliable current signal turned up. The last confirmed sighting we found dates to 2015.
What happened after
A lead suggested a rebrand to 'Biren & Co' (founder Mark Biren) but this was not independently confirmed. Two candidate replacement domains were checked directly and neither mentions Burbank or Biren: wickedcandles.shop and itswick-ed.com both appear to be unrelated (likely UK-based) candle brands.
What happened on the show
Wick'ed was a candle company run by Mark Biren and his wife Samantha, creative for a niche market but struggling to find distributors, with limited output. Marcus offered $200,000 for a third of the business. Samantha was open to his suggestions, but Mark had a hard time hearing criticism. He clung to the idea that every candle needed its own story, until a visit to a local candle shop made plain that customers buy on look and smell, not narrative. Mark also nursed grudges, refusing to work with a candle manufacturer over an error from years back, though Marcus eventually talked him into it and contributed to the box design. Mark revealed that his mistrust traced to a broken family. The company was renamed Biren & Co., and the business went on to promote a new line of scented products under the new name.
After the cameras left
We could not confirm what became of the company. A lead pointed to the on air rename, Biren & Co., under founder Mark Biren, but we could not independently verify it is still trading. Two candidate replacement domains we checked directly turned out to be unrelated candle brands, likely based in the United Kingdom, with no connection to Burbank or Biren. With no clean current signal either way, Wick'ed ships as unverifiable, and we recommend a recheck aimed specifically at the Biren & Co. name.
