What happened on the show

Lisa and Giovanni ran Bentley's Corner Barkery, a pet supply store built around all natural products, and they had opened several locations without a consistent concept while, low on funds, trying to acquire another pet chain. Their own store managers felt unsupported and out of the loop. Marcus offered $1.7 million split two ways, $400,000 as equity plus $1.3 million toward that acquisition, taking 40 percent that would drop to 25 percent once the larger sum was repaid. He remodeled the store for a better layout and moved high margin products to the front. Lisa balked at improving the inventory and refused to stock more affordable brands made by companies that also produced non natural lines, and Marcus grew frustrated with the double standard.
