What happened on the show
A UK production filmed on the Spanish coast, La Parra de Burriana sat in an ideal holiday spot in Nerja yet could not draw the locals. Ramsay found a menu that lurched across cuisines and into genuinely strange territory, prawns with chocolate sauce, chicken with banana, the work of owner Laurence Davy, whose poor service and arrogance had already earned the place a bad name and even offended a local donkey sanctuary. To make the point that ingredients should speak for themselves, Ramsay blended menu items into smoothies, and Laurence could not identify his own prawns. He built a simple service menu, but Laurence clung to his sprawling one and only switched too late; the night was further wrecked when thieves robbed the takings from a filing cabinet. Ramsay took him to a bullfighting school to underline the value of expert advice and weaned him off his overused plancha grill. The reopening was nearly flawless until double-booked tables caused chaos.

This is an honest case of the long tail defeating verification. We found no reliable independent signal, in English or Spanish, and even a maps lookup came back empty; every specific claim that the Nerja restaurant is open or closed traces to competitor trackers we will not use as evidence. So we are not going to tell you which it is. A twenty-year-old episode about a foreign business, with no local paper trail and no official listing, is exactly the kind of entry whose current status cannot honestly be pinned down. We would rather say plainly that we do not know than launder a guess.
