Murchison-Hume was a natural cleaning products brand that Max Kater had founded over in Sydney, and while Marcus liked the all natural idea, he questioned the high price points and prestige positioning. The books were showing heavy losses tied to a dishonest managing director in Australia who had recently been fired. Max wanted the company valued at a million dollars, pointing to its rising international sales, which Marcus rejected, countering with $250,000 for 30 percent plus a proposal to carve out a new company around their pet care brand. The relationship was rocky throughout. Marcus pushed a total rebrand and a name change that Max first accepted and then refused, and on her original investor's advice Max tried to renegotiate for a smaller upfront stake that she would earn up, which infuriated him. After more back and forth over inventory that turned out to be far smaller than represented, and an accountant he could not reach, Marcus ultimately walked, though he later returned to buy the pet care trademark he had wanted all along.

Murchison-Hume is still on the market. The natural, non toxic home care brand runs a live official site with a current product catalog and active promotions. The company was notable enough that Marcus revisited it on a later episode.
