What happened after

Boutique clothing brand; June 2020 lawsuit filed by founders Nicolas Goureau and Stephanie Menkin against Marcus Lemonis (fraud/misconduct allegations); a July 2023 status update reported all locations still open after renovations and product-line refresh.

What happened on the show

Courage.b was a women's clothing line started by Noemi and managed by her son Nicolas that had ridden early success into a rough patch as the market shifted. Marcus invested $800,000 for a 30 percent stake. His first move was to clear out a backlog of unsellable inventory born of Noemi's less successful ideas, then to rebuild the brand around what he called five pillars anchored to its strongest product, giving the line a consistent, recognizable look. The harder work was human. Nicolas was abusive toward his mother on camera, and Marcus spent much of the visit drawing him out, surfacing a streak of control and mistrust underneath the friction. With the tension eased at least for the moment, the team reworked the store into a more upscale space and relaunched the label. It was a fashion investment that Marcus clearly saw a future in, enough that he would later put the people from this brand in charge of his other clothing ventures.

After the cameras left

The brand stayed open, but the relationship with Marcus did not stay friendly. In June 2020 the founders, Nicolas Goureau and Stephanie Menkin, filed suit against Marcus Lemonis in Greenwich, alleging fraud and misconduct, one of several legal disputes that trailed his investments. Setting the litigation aside, a July 2023 update reported that all Courage.b locations remained open following renovations and a refreshed product line, with the flagship on Greenwich Avenue. Our most recent independent confirmation dates to 2023, and one supporting source came through a search snippet rather than a direct page load, so we hold this at medium confidence. Open, with a contentious legal history.
