What happened on the show

Bowery Kitchen Supplies was a kitchenware store owned by former spouses Howard and Robyn, and it was a mess, no organization, no merchandising, no inventory system. Howard spent a lot of time away yet insisted on controlling what happened in the store, and his impulsive buying had piled up useless inventory and heavy debt. Marcus's first move was to liquidate everything, which raised over $300,000 and emptied the space for a full renovation. He and Robyn worked out which departments to feature, but Howard opposed her ideas at every turn, and Marcus warned Robyn she had to stop letting Howard dominate if the business was to survive. Howard kept frustrating him with his absences and a stream of threatening emails, until it emerged that Howard was deeply anxious about the lack of funds and that Robyn had been quietly setting money aside to shield him from his own worst instincts. Even with Howard off on a vacation as the store reopened, he eventually came around, and the team launched a cleaner, better organized store.

After the cameras left

The store is still open. Bowery Kitchen Supplies, a kitchenware and restaurant supply shop operating since 1996, runs from West 16th Street in Manhattan, with Facebook activity dated as recently as January 2026. The clutter and dysfunction the episode captured evidently gave way to something sustainable, because the business is still serving cooks and restaurants nearly a decade after Marcus cleared it out and rebuilt it. Confirmed operating as of 2026, medium confidence.
