barMystery Diners · Season 9, Episode 10 · Aired April 8, 2015
Victory
New Orleans, Louisiana
Renamed since the episode, and still in business. It now goes by Baroness On Baronne.
What happened after
CBD cocktail lounge/restaurant reopened post-COVID under a new name, per explicit press statement.
What happened on the show
Daniel Victory found high-end liquor going missing and heard his bartenders were serving rival bars' signature drinks at his New Orleans lounge. Charles Stiles' investigator Patrick learned a head bartender was moonlighting and pouring one of Victory's own cocktails elsewhere, and cameras caught a drifter asleep in the VIP room. A single mystery diner, Ingrid, went in as a waitress. As aired, the manager knew the drifter and was charging him rent to sleep there, while throwing paid VIP parties and comping food, and the bartender served rival bars' signature drinks in the house. The confrontation has Daniel firing both the manager and the bartender. Given the scripting claims that later dogged Mystery Diners, this cocktail sting is best framed as broadcast rather than as verified.
After the cameras left
Victory did not close so much as reopen under a new name. The downtown cocktail lounge came back after the pandemic as Baroness On Baronne, an explicit rename confirmed in local press, at 339 Baronne Street per our 2026 pass. That is an ordinary evolution rather than a rescue, and we track it as renamed and still operating. Mystery Diners filmed one night of a liquor sting; the room's rebrand came years later and on its own terms, which is lifecycle, not fallout.
