What happened on the show
Two months into their New Orleans jazz cafe and oyster bar, Arthur and Shawnette Humphrey were drowning in service complaints and called Charles Stiles. He sent mystery diners Nicole, Andrew and Damon in as a seafood distributor, a waitress and a customer. As aired, manager Chastity had cut unauthorized delivery deals and stacked the staff with unqualified friends, including a bartender, while she and her waiter boyfriend took endless breaks and snapped at difficult guests. The confrontation has the owners firing Chastity and the boyfriend, Chastity arguing that a married couple should not object to employees dating. Stiles closes with the friends cleared out and business booming. Given the scripting claims that later dogged Mystery Diners, this new-restaurant sting is best framed as broadcast rather than as verified fact.
After the cameras left
The restaurant is still operating, though its billed name has drifted over the years. The Cajun-Creole room now trades as World Famous N'awlins Cafe and Spice Emporium near North Peters Street, still listed as open across TripAdvisor and Yelp in our 2026 pass, at medium confidence given some address inconsistency in the directories. It counts as a survivor in renamed form, an ordinary evolution rather than a rescue. Charles Stiles filmed a staffing mess in a two-month-old room; the room grew up and kept going.
