Keith Chifici was fielding complaints about a manager with stand-up-comedy ambitions at his New Orleans seafood restaurant, and he worried the staff was taking advantage of the man. Charles Stiles sent mystery diners Andrew and Deanna in as a waiter and a customer. As aired, the manager's jokes are genuinely hurting business, but the theft is a waiter named Carlos, filmed drinking on shift and lifting wine while the manager performs his routine in the middle of the dining room. The confrontation has Keith firing Carlos and suspending the aspiring comedian with a demotion, Carlos shrugging that the wine was cheap. Stiles closes with the manager still chasing comedy clubs. Given the staging allegations that later attached to Mystery Diners, this seafood sting is best framed as broadcast rather than as independently verified.
