Restaurant at 484 E Los Angeles Ave; Yelp listing states 'Yelpers report this location has closed.'
What happened on the show
Joe and Fran Cavasino were hearing theft complaints at their Moorpark Sicilian restaurant, and Joe's suspicion landed on the waiter dating their daughter. Charles Stiles sent mystery diners Shelby and Destiney in as a waitress and a customer. As aired, the thief is actually an elderly busboy who also drinks on the job, while the waiter, though not the thief, is caught letting a diner kiss him and agreeing to a date while telling the daughter he had to study. The confrontation has Fran firing the busboy and Joe firing the waiter as the daughter breaks up with him. Given the scripting claims that later dogged Mystery Diners, this daddy's-girl sting is best framed as broadcast rather than as verified.
After the cameras left
Geppino's has since closed. The restaurant at 484 East Los Angeles Avenue carries a Yelp note that the location has closed, no date surfacing, at medium confidence in our 2026 pass, with other directories possibly stale. A Moorpark restaurant closing somewhere down the line is ordinary lifecycle, not the residue of a theft sting. Mystery Diners filmed one night of a family and a busboy; the restaurant's ending came later and cannot be dated precisely from the record.
