What happened on the show
Sales discrepancies pointed the owners of Cheeseburger Baby toward an ex-convict waiter they had hired to give a second chance, and they asked Charles Stiles to investigate. Stiles sent mystery diners Tracy and John in as a waitress and a customer at the Miami Beach burger joint. As aired, the reveal flips the suspicion: the ex-con is innocent, and waitress Krystia is the thief, framing him for the loss because of his record. The confrontation has owners Stephanie and Danielle pressing Krystia until she returns the money, then firing her and apologizing to the man she scapegoated. Stiles closes with a new register system in place. With the staging allegations that later attached to Mystery Diners in view, this frame-up sting is best read as broadcast rather than as verified.
