What happened on the show
Ondrea Faillace suspected her own new business partner of the register mistakes and inventory gaps at her Los Angeles tavern, which made him the first restaurant owner the show ever cast as a suspect. Charles Stiles sent mystery diners Amanda and Rob in as a waitress and a tequila rep. As aired, the partner has been taking her generosity for granted, cutting unauthorized deals with breweries, deleting inventory orders to cover his tracks and blaming a waitress, stealing food she made for a musician she mentors, and staging events under cover of her charity. The confrontation has Ondrea firing him and dissolving the partnership. Given the scripting claims that later dogged Mystery Diners, this partner sting is best framed as broadcast rather than as verified.

Black Rose Tavern has since closed. The bar at 8771 West Pico Boulevard is explicitly tagged closed on one listing, its most recent review dating to October 2019, held at medium confidence in our 2026 pass, with some stale directories still showing it as if active. A neighborhood bar going dark somewhere after that is ordinary attrition, not the residue of a partner sting. Mystery Diners filmed one night of a business dispute; the tavern's closing came later and cannot be dated precisely.
