valet-related theft sting
What happened after
Italian Kitchen and Bar, opened 1990 at 346 S La Brea Ave; GAYOT flags 'THIS RESTAURANT HAS CHANGED LOCATIONS' from that address, and the business's own root domain (cabreala.com) is now domain-squatted by an unrelated Chinese-language fiction site -- a strong closure/abandonment signal per the domain-parked convention. No trace of continued operation found at the alternate Wilshire Blvd address either.
What happened on the show
When his regular valet went on leave, Ca'Brea owner and chef George Sarkis started fielding complaints about the substitute and about a delivery driver too. Charles Stiles put mystery diners Hank and Tracy in as customers with cars to watch. On the hidden cameras, as aired, valet Rob rifles through vehicles, lifts exposed cash and a phone from Tracy's car, and takes Hank's Bentley out on a delivery run with driver Dylan, leaving the lot unattended. The confrontation has George firing Rob and suspending Dylan, Rob barking at the cameraman on his way out. Stiles notes the valet company terminated Rob as well. Like the rest of the series, which later faced staging allegations, this parking-lot sting is best read as broadcast rather than as confirmed, a set piece built for the cameras as much as caught by them.
After the cameras left
Ca'Brea is gone, in the slow ordinary way. The Italian kitchen and bar that opened in 1990 at 346 South La Brea Avenue has left that address, a restaurant guide flags it as having changed locations, and its old domain has lapsed into an unrelated foreign-language site, all consistent with closure in our 2026 pass. No continued operation surfaced at the alternate address it once listed. This was attrition over many years, not any consequence of the night Charles Stiles filmed the valet stand.
