Derrick Pipkin had a host he believed was faking an injury. As the episode tells it, he had tried to fire waiter Bob for rudeness, Bob claimed a hurt leg and threatened to sue, and Derrick, cornered, moved him to hosting instead. Charles Stiles staged an elaborate test, planting mystery diners as a hostess and a customer and then parking Tracy outside with a supposed flat tire. Infatuated, Bob peels off his cast, changes the tire, and accepts an invitation to dance, exposing the ruse on camera. The aired confrontation has Derrick firing him, brace and all, while Bob calls the accusations ridiculous.
