Original Azusa location closed; the brand continues operating from a Pasadena location under the same name.
What happened on the show
Byron Takeuchi watched customers thin out at his Azusa teriyaki and burger drive-thru. Charles Stiles' investigator Eliot and mystery diners Kiel and Stephanie went in as customers and a cashier. As aired, the trouble was odd rather than larcenous: a manager who was an obsessive environmental activist had been charging customers extra for to-go bags, napkins and refills, not pocketing the money but driving guests off, one storming out over a napkin surcharge, while a drive-thru cashier ran a pay-it-forward skim for himself at the window. The confrontation has Byron firing the cashier and suspending the manager. Because Mystery Diners was later accused of scripting these reveals, this drive-thru sting is best read as broadcast rather than as independently confirmed.
After the cameras left
B-Man's did not close so much as move. The original Azusa location at 990 East Alosta Avenue shows as closed, but the brand continues under the same name in Pasadena, at 3007 Huntington Drive, active with heavy review volume in our 2026 pass, at medium confidence. That is an ordinary relocation rather than a rescue, and we track it as relocated and still running. The eco-manager drama the cameras filmed had no bearing on where the business eventually planted itself.
