Harvey's Steakhouse
Huntington Beach, California
This one survived. It remains in business.
What happened after
Steakhouse still operating with regular evening hours; search-result 'Closed Now' reflects daily hours (dinner-only), not a permanent closure.
What happened on the show
Joseph Harvey watched older regulars thin out and liquor go missing at his Huntington Beach steakhouse amid complaints of rowdy young crowds. Charles Stiles sent mystery diner Destiney in as a waitress, with investigator Eliot foiling an attempt to swap the security footage, and even brought back a reformed former target, Hal, now working the other side of the operation as a diner. As aired, a newly promoted manager and his crew had been throwing loud, unauthorized patio dance parties, and when an elderly guest appeared to collapse outside during one, the owner reached his limit. The confrontation has Joseph firing the manager. Because Mystery Diners was later accused of scripting its confrontations, this dance-party sting is best read as broadcast rather than as documented event.
After the cameras left
Harvey's is still open, a going Huntington Beach steakhouse the episode never threatened. It keeps regular evening hours at 6060 Warner Avenue, a search-result closed-now flag merely reflecting its dinner-only schedule rather than any shutdown, at medium confidence in our 2026 pass. An established steakhouse that appeared on a crisis show simply kept serving, its survival the ordinary kind rather than a rescue. The party drama made an episode; it was never the measure of whether this room would last.
