What happened on the show
Nothing at the Four Seasons Inn in West Dover, Vermont was connected to the luxury chain of a similar name; it was a dated property where none of the staff were being paid. It leaned hard into being dog-friendly, with a large kennel almost nobody used. Owner Sandy MacDougall insisted on cooking despite having no training. Ramsay renovated the rooms and the kennel, rebuilt the menu, and rechristened the place Layla's Riverside Lodge, both to end the confusion with the hotel brand and to honor Sandy's dog, Layla. He pushed Sandy out of the kitchen and into the role of full-time innkeeper, and got a promise that the staff would finally be paid. The heart of this one was an owner playing chef when what the inn really needed was someone reliable at the front desk.

The rename held. As of our latest verification pass Layla's Riverside Lodge is live and taking bookings as a bed and breakfast in West Dover, with a working official site and a large body of recent reviews. An earlier research pass surfaced a claim that the property was later resold and closed, but the live, bookable official site directly contradicts that, so we record the status as renamed and operating rather than closed. We note the conflicting signal openly and will recheck it on a future freshness pass. For now, the evidence that you can actually book a room outweighs the rumor that you cannot.
