What happened on the show

It baffled Ramsay that a lodge in a setting this scenic could be bleeding money, but the Applegate River Lodge, in Applegate, Oregon, was doing exactly that. The trouble was family. Owner Richard Davis let his sons Dusty and Duke handle the entertainment and dining side without sharing any of the proceeds with his wife Joanna, and guests were routinely kept awake by late-night jam sessions. Ramsay's job was as much mediation as renovation: he got the family to reconcile, refreshed the rooms, redesigned the menu, and moved the live music outdoors where it would stop invading the guest rooms. When he left, the reviews ran genuinely mixed, with recurring complaints about the wedding services and a split verdict on the lodge and restaurant. The location was never the problem; the way the family divided the labor and the money was.

After the cameras left

The Davis family's run ended a few years on. In December 2022 the Applegate River Lodge changed hands, and the new owners rebranded it as The Lindsay. As of our latest verification pass that operation is active as a restaurant, bar, and lodging destination in Applegate. A Southern Oregon tourism page states directly that The Lindsay was formerly the Applegate River Lodge, which gives us a clean, non-competitor confirmation of the rename. The scenery that first drew Ramsay's disbelief is still doing business, just under a different name and a different family.
