What happened on the show
Ramsay found himself the only guest at the Curtis House in Woodbury, Connecticut, an inn run by bickering siblings TJ Brennan and Chris Hardisty whose feuding poisoned both their family and the staff. The food was disgusting, the linens were stained, and guests' private information was stored carelessly. Much of the visit was relationship repair: through private one-on-one sessions with past guests, a raw staff sit-down, and a frank talk with the two brothers, Ramsay got TJ and Chris to see that changing was the only way the inn would survive. Once they reconciled, he moved ahead with the renovations, a brand-new menu, an updated lobby, and fresh decor and furnishings for the rooms. Billed as Connecticut's oldest inn, the Curtis House was a property whose real damage sat between two owners who could not stop fighting.
After the cameras left
The peace did not last, and neither did the name. TJ and Chris kept up the changes for a while, but they closed the inn in April 2019 for reasons never made public, and the property was sold that September. It did not stay dark. As of our latest verification pass the historic building operates as the 1754 House, reopened under new management and a new chef, Michael Bates-Walsh, and still trading on its claim as Connecticut's oldest inn with dining and lodging. Local coverage in Woodbury documented the reopening, and the 1754 House site is live with rooms and booking. The sibling feud ended the old chapter; new hands started another.
