Rockin' Rhonda's

Sanford, Florida

CLOSED

This one did not make it. The business closed.

What happened after

Per Wikipedia's Bar Rescue season 5 episode list (S5E28): "This bar has closed."

What happened on the show

A failing bar was literally collapsing into the ground after its insurance company refused the owner's claim to fix the old structure. At Rockin' Rhonda's in Sanford, Florida, Hurricane Matthew had wrecked the building, and the crumbling floor was so dangerous that Taffer held no recon at all. The bar underwent major construction, with the stress test and training staged at other venues, the rescue as much a rebuild as a business fix. Taffer reopened the room as Rhonda's: A Neighborhood Bar, a modernized take on the old name meant to relaunch a structurally repaired room with a clearer identity, betting that a rebuilt building and a fresh concept could give a storm-damaged, uninsured bar a genuine second chance. A crumbling, uninsured room hit by a hurricane left little to work with, which made the rebuild itself the heart of the rescue.

After the cameras left

Rockin' Rhonda's, rebranded Rhonda's: A Neighborhood Bar, has since closed. Wikipedia's episode list carries the plain note that this bar has closed, a generic footnote without a date or further detail, which holds the closure at medium confidence as the only source found. The storm-damaged bar did not survive: whatever the extensive construction and the rebrand accomplished, the room Taffer rebuilt after Hurricane Matthew's damage eventually shut its doors, closing out another uninsured, disaster-hit rescue from season five.
