What happened on the show

Taffer returned to Champagne's Cafe for a second full rescue, one of his rare re-rescues, to help the struggling Las Vegas dive survive the pandemic and hold onto its legacy. Having first rescued the bar in season five, he came back to a room that had slipped again, this time against the backdrop of a hospitality industry battered by COVID. The rescue worked to shore up one of the city's oldest dive bars a second time, treating its roughly six decades of history as worth fighting for even on a repeat visit. The intervention followed the show's arc of scrutiny and renovation, betting that a second overhaul could keep a genuine Las Vegas institution, and its legacy, alive through the pandemic that threatened it.

After the cameras left

Champagne's Cafe survived both of its rescues by years before finally closing for good in February 2026. One of the oldest dive bars in Las Vegas, roughly sixty years old, at 3557 South Maryland Parkway, it outlasted this second 2021 rescue and the earlier 2016 intervention before shutting its doors, which puts the closure at high confidence. This entry marks the same physical bar as the season-five row, the two rescues bracketing a rare twice-saved run. A true Vegas institution, it had a far longer life than most rescued bars before reaching its end.
