Closure date on record: 2017

What happened on the show

A novice owner had convinced his friends to sink their life savings into a community bar, then turned it into a bottomless money pit while doing nothing to stop the bleeding. At Cirivello's Bar in Long Beach, Taffer had to get the investors to step up and seize control before they lost everything, since the owner himself was incapable of fixing what he had broken. The episode marked the final appearance of chef expert Brendan Collins. Taffer reopened the room as the Aging Room at Cirivello's, a modernized take on the old name meant to give the community staple a fresh identity while the investors took the reins, betting that the people whose savings were on the line could run the bar better than the novice who had squandered them.

After the cameras left

Cirivello's has since closed, though the exact timing is uncertain, with accounts ranging across 2015 to 2017. The rescue name held through the show's 2018 revisit, but a MapQuest listing now shows Cirivello's Sports Stop marked closed at 4115 North Viking Way in Long Beach, confirming the closure at medium confidence even as it leaves the date unpinned. The investors' gamble did not pay off in the long run: whatever the makeover changed, the community bar their savings had funded eventually shut its doors for good.
