What happened on the show
Alex Polizzi's series 6 case in Chertsey was the Windsors Hotel, a small hostelry near Thorpe Park plagued by poor decor, dated furnishings and, crucially, an unenthusiastic owner. That last point is the crux. Tired furnishings can be replaced, but a proprietor who has lost interest is the harder fix, and Polizzi's work here was partly about reigniting some drive in an owner who had let the place drift. A dated bed and breakfast in a location with genuine passing trade should have been able to do better, and her prescription combined the obvious cosmetic updates with the tougher challenge of getting the owner to care about the business again. The dated, unenthusiastically-run hostelry aired in August 2010 before its pivot toward a restaurant-led operation under a new name.
After the cameras left
The Windsors survives, but has changed character enough to blur the line between rename and new venture. It now trades as Windsor Wine and Dine, combining bed-and-breakfast rooms with an Indian restaurant and bar. The pivot toward a restaurant-led operation makes it plausible this reflects new ownership rather than a straightforward continuation, though the same address and property carry through, so the renamed status is held at medium confidence.
