Flush with cash from selling several of the family's other restaurants, Yusi and Sophie bought Rosey's expecting an easy win. It was anything but. The diner sat in an industrial stretch so bleak the episode called it a wasteland, a place that looked as though it had not seen a customer in years, and the pair's windfall was now tied up in a room nobody could find a reason to visit. Restaurant Takeover took the case with its six-day Food Network Canada format, the reboot of Restaurant Makeover, sending chef Andrea Nicholson and designer Montana Burnett to drag in the traffic the location worked against. The tension was self-inflicted and steep: a family's hard-won financial freedom riding on a diner they had bought without thinking through where it sat.
