What happened after

Sibling-owned Italian cafe/bakery/takeout joint in the Vaughan/Maple area. Foursquare lists the venue as "(Now Closed)" under the Augusto 33 name; directory listings (Nexdu, Placedigger) show a successor business, Brookelynn's Bistro, at 9300 Keele St, Vaughan -- consistent with the P1 entities-file note that this location was "renamed Brookelynn's Bistro per synopsis."

What happened on the show

Two twenty-something siblings pulled a takeout joint in opposite directions, and their tug of war was Augusto 33. Eric and Nancy had a large, mostly empty space in the Vaughan area, no money to furnish it, and completely opposing ideas about what the business should become, while their mother Lynda worked the kitchen. Even the concept was unsettled: bakery, Italian restaurant, or cafe, nobody could say. Restaurant Takeover walked into that confusion with its six-day Food Network Canada makeover, the reboot of Restaurant Makeover, sending chef Corbin Tomaszeski and designer Paula Velez in to force one clear idea onto the space. The tension was sibling against sibling, two young owners who could not agree on direction, plus a mom in the back and a room that had never decided what it was. The team's task was to settle the argument by settling the concept, and to do it before the family's disagreement sank the place.

After the cameras left

Augusto 33 did not survive under that name, but the location appears to have carried on. Foursquare lists the original Vaughan venue as closed under the Augusto 33 name, while directory records show a successor, Brookelynn's Bistro, at 9300 Keele Street, consistent with our note that the siblings' spot was renamed after the show. We could not independently confirm Brookelynn's Bistro is still open today, so this is a rename identification rather than a live-open verdict. The likeliest read is that the family rebranded the same location and pressed on. Whether that successor is still trading in 2026, we cannot yet confirm.
