Reza had given up nearly everything to keep Legends Bar and Eatery alive, and the loyal regulars he did it for were the problem. His dedicated crowd of drinkers was aging along with the bar, on St. Clair Avenue West in Toronto, while a wave of younger families and condo residents moved into the changing neighborhood without ever coming in. Restaurant Takeover framed the fix as demographic: reach the new arrivals before the old clientele thinned out entirely. The Food Network Canada reboot of Restaurant Makeover sent chef Andrea Nicholson and designer Amanda Campbell in on the six-day clock to help Reza modernize the room so he could finally step back from it and get some of his life back.
