Owner Cindy could not stop talking up the chicken at McShane's, and Irvine had to concede the half chicken genuinely impressed him, but that was about the only thing working in the East Syracuse restaurant. Nobody was coming in to eat it. He found both dining room and kitchen grimy, the decor tacky and overdue, and the rest of the food flat next to that one standout dish.
