What happened on the show

Bob Berkowitz suspected his weekly quiz night was rigged at his Philadelphia bar, with a ten-time drag-queen champion cheating and his manager helping. Charles Stiles sent mystery diners Kiara and Danny in as a waitress and a competing drag queen. As aired, the manager is innocent; a bartender, Scott, is the one lifting the question sheet from the office computer and feeding answers to the champion through an earpiece. Stiles counters by feeding answers to his own player, forcing a tiebreaker Scott fumbles, and the reveal lands. The confrontation has Bob firing Scott, who calls his firing unfair and dubs Stiles a D-list Sherlock Holmes on the way out. Because Mystery Diners was later accused of staging these set pieces, this quiz-night sting is best read as broadcast rather than as documented event.
