What happened on the show

Marvin Graaf was hearing, mostly from his own best friend, that his girlfriend and manager was rude to customers and acted above the rules. Charles Stiles sent mystery diners Miranda and Kevin in as a waitress and a customer at the Philadelphia taproom. As aired, the manager is not the problem at all; the best friend, Morris, is, showing up drunk, spreading lies in hopes of having the girlfriend to himself, harassing customers and her, and wandering behind the bar while intoxicated. The confrontation has Marvin ending the friendship and banning Morris, who promises to make amends. Stiles closes with Marvin and the manager engaged. With the staging allegations that later trailed Mystery Diners in mind, this friend-turned-saboteur sting is best framed as broadcast rather than as verified.

Falls Taproom has since closed, and for a plainly stated reason.
