magician/staff distraction theft sting

What happened after

Italian restaurant at 1955 E Tropicana Ave; marked '(Now Closed)' on Foursquare and 'reported as permanently closed' on MenuPix. No closure date found.

What happened on the show

Rosele Napoli and her fiance thought a feud between their longtime pianist and a newly hired magician was souring their Las Vegas Italian restaurant. Charles Stiles sent mystery diners Hollie and John in as a waitress and a customer. As aired, neither performer is at fault; a waiter is quietly stoking the fight, stealing the pianist's tips, lying to each entertainer that the other has been trash-talking him, and scamming diners for tips he claims to pass to the magician, who is not even permitted to accept them. The confrontation, staged after the magician botches a trick that breaks plates and sends the pianist slipping, has Rosele firing the waiter. Given the scripting claims that later dogged Mystery Diners, this backstage sting is best framed as broadcast rather than as verified fact.

After the cameras left

Sergio's has since closed. The Italian restaurant at 1955 East Tropicana Avenue is tagged as closed across a couple of listings, no date surfacing, at medium confidence in our 2026 pass, with the name appearing in a few cosmetic variants at the same address. A neighborhood Italian room closing over the years is ordinary lifecycle, not the residue of an entertainer sting. The show filmed one night of manufactured feuding; the restaurant's ending came later and on its own terms.
