What happened on the show

John Arena had two kitchens under one roof at his Las Vegas pizzeria, a pizza side and a bakery, and a feud between them plus rising bakery costs. Charles Stiles sent mystery diners Arielle and Andy in as a waitress and a customer. As aired, the baker is being set up: a manager and the head pizza chef are stoking her stress, the manager taking bribes for special treatment, calling in fake orders to lift cakes, and stealing the bakery's flour for his sister's restaurant. The confrontation has both the manager and the chef quitting once the manager recognizes Stiles. Given the scripting claims that later dogged Mystery Diners, this two-kitchen sting is best framed as broadcast rather than as verified.
