restaurantMystery Diners · Season 7, Episode 12 · Aired October 6, 2014
Anthony's Café Aldente
Studio City, California
Status unknown. No reliable current signal turned up. The last confirmed sighting we found dates to 2014.
What happened after
Directory listings (Yellow Pages, AllBiz) show hours with no closure notice, but neither is dated recently enough to confirm current status.
What happened on the show
Anthony and Anna Sinopoli had just bought a Studio City cafe and found the old staff clinging to the previous owner's ways. Charles Stiles sent mystery diners Annalisa and Kiel in as a waitress and a customer. As aired, a manager who had lost the auction for the place to the new owners is stoking the resistance, pushing the staff to keep old policies, selling off-menu items, circulating a petition to force the owners to hand her the restaurant, and letting a retired accordion player work the room for tips, with the previous owner's brother unwittingly caught up in it. The confrontation has the owners firing her. Because Mystery Diners was later accused of scripting these reveals, this ownership-grudge sting is best read as broadcast rather than as independently confirmed.
After the cameras left
After the episode, Anthony's Café Aldente fades from the verifiable record. Directory listings show hours with no closure notice, but none is dated recently enough to confirm current operation in our 2026 pass, so we hold it at last confirmed rather than guess. Mystery Diners filmed an ownership-grudge sting and moved on; it left no rescue to trace. A small Studio City cafe with only undated listings is exactly the kind of subject the record cannot settle either way.
