What happened on the show

Larry Herz could not tell whether his regulars had grown entitled or his servers had trained them to expect special treatment at his Denver restaurant. Charles Stiles sent mystery diners Ariel and Conner in as a waitress and a customer. As aired, the regulars are blameless; a server is the problem, stashing hash browns against the rules and picking a fight with a hostess for reseating a reserved table, then bribing the diner to move with a half-comped meal. The confrontation has the server quitting in anger before Larry can fire her, insisting she only wanted customers to feel special. Because Mystery Diners was later accused of scripting its confrontations, this misread-suspicion sting is best read as broadcast rather than as documented event.

730 South has since closed, on a long clock.
