In the Letchworth kitchen of La Lanterna, Ramsay found no real Italian ingredients, just a reliance on pre-cooked and packaged food. His meal ran from greasy minestrone to breadsticks still in their wrapper to sausages on garlic bread he compared, memorably, to something obscene.
