What happened on the show
Two former rockers were running a Halloween-and-horror-themed Las Vegas bar into the ground, and the trouble ran deeper than the fake cobwebs. Taffer found poor food service, tacky decor and a genuine rift of distrust between the employees and the management running The Underworld Grill and Bar, the kind of internal suspicion that quietly poisons a room. Opened in 2011 by musicians Jaz Bender and Kristy Kaos, the bar leaned hard on its macabre identity without the operational backbone to support it. Taffer's rescue worked to rebuild both the service and the fractured relationship between the owners and their staff, then reopened the venue under a fittingly grim new name, The End. The rebrand kept a thematic nod to the horror concept the rockers loved while signaling a cleaner operation behind it, betting that trust and competence, not just atmosphere, could keep the doors open on the Strip's fringes.
After the cameras left
The name turned out to be prophetic. The End closed in February 2016, a little over two years after the rescue, and the horror-themed bar its rocker owners had built did not outlast the decade. High-confidence sourcing puts the closure firmly on the record. Whatever the makeover fixed in the moment, the distrust and operational strain Taffer diagnosed proved more durable than the fresh paint and the new sign.
