Revisited in Back to the Bar: Disasters of Epic Proportions (S5E31, aired 2017-09-17) as The Shot Exchange
What happened after
Renamed The Shot Exchange per Bar Rescue revisit S5E31 (2017). A May 9, 2026 Facebook post documents a burglary at the venue, confirming active operation as of that date.
What happened on the show
A father fed up with his staff's unruly behavior could do nothing about it, because the owners, his own children, were too lenient to fire anyone. At The Tailgate in Santa Clarita, Taffer's job was to mend that family friction and get the owners to see what their leniency was costing them, a lesson that landed hard when one employee caused a genuine disaster in the kitchen. The rescue forced the owners to finally hold their staff accountable, breaking the pattern of tolerating behavior that was sinking the room. Taffer reopened the venue as The Shot Exchange, a livelier identity built to give the bar a fresh start once the discipline problem was addressed, betting that owners pushed to actually manage their people could keep a room their permissiveness had nearly wrecked.
After the cameras left
The Shot Exchange endured, even through a change in ownership. Per the show's revisit, the bar was sold, but the new owners chose to keep running it exactly as Taffer had rescued it, and it remains active at 26891 Bouquet Canyon Road: a May 2026 Facebook post documenting a burglary at the venue confirms it was still operating as of that date. The rescue identity outlasted both the original owners and the sale, putting this one firmly among the survivors at high confidence.
