What happened after
Reverted from the Bar Rescue rename 'Menara' back to its original operating name, 'The Palace Lounge' -- a Mediterranean restaurant and hookah lounge at 1276 W 7th St, Upland CA 91786-7035, matching the address on file and the hookah/Arabic-music/belly-dancing lead from the prior pass. Own domain thepalacehookahlounge.net exists with current posted hours (Tue 7PM-12AM; Fri-Sat 8PM-2AM; closed Sun-Mon, Wed-Thu).
What happened on the show
A Moroccan bar with a full-blown identity crisis, its interior and exterior designs at odds, drew Taffer to Upland with actors Alexander Siddig and Iddo Goldberg in tow. The Palace came with a staff untrained in Moroccan cuisine and proper bartending, plus a chef ignoring basic sanitation, and Siddig and Goldberg went in as recon spies wearing earpieces so Taffer could guide them from outside. The episode premiered an hour early as a lead-in for the Spike miniseries Tut, which the two actors starred in, and the extensive redesign forced the stress test and training to be held offsite at Friar Tucks. Taffer reopened the room as Menara, a rebrand meant to resolve the design confusion and give the Moroccan concept a single coherent identity, betting that a unified look and a trained kitchen could finally make the theme pay.
After the cameras left
The Palace reverted from Taffer's Menara rebrand back to its own operating name and is still running. It trades as The Palace Lounge, a Mediterranean restaurant and hookah lounge at 1276 West 7th Street in Upland, with an own domain carrying current posted hours, which puts the open call at medium confidence on a snippet-only citation after a bot-blocked fetch. The room kept its Palace lineage across the years, its hookah-and-Mediterranean identity intact, landing this one among the survivors even after shedding the rescue's Moroccan rebrand.
