What happened on the show

The Fifth held a distinction that mattered in its Utah town: it was Bountiful's only bar. When Taffer arrived, the room needed the show's standard rescue treatment, a recon of the operation, a confrontation over its problems, a stress test and a renovation, to secure a business that served a genuine local niche in a state with strict liquor rules. Taffer kept The Fifth name through the makeover, a signal that the bar's identity and its singular role in Bountiful were worth preserving once the operation was tightened, betting that a steadier business could hold onto a status, the town's lone bar, that gave it a built-in reason to exist. In a state with famously strict liquor rules, being Bountiful's only bar was both the room's greatest asset and, as its licensing troubles would show, its most fragile one.

The Fifth is closed, undone by a licensing technicality rather than the business itself.
