What happened on the show
A lackluster landlord fell into the sports-bar business almost by accident, taking over a World Series-winning Cubs hangout when a previous tenant refused to pay rent. At The Dugout in Chicago's Wrigleyville, Taffer grew so fed up with the owner's bullheaded streak that he broke from the usual playbook entirely, holding no grand reopening for the remodeled bar. Several bartenders quit on the spot when the owner turned up drunk and uninvited to the unveiling, though two later returned, and no post-rescue sales figures were available. It was also only the second episode, after O'Face Bar, to debut no new cocktails. Taffer briefly renamed the room The Press Box, but the owner reverted to The Dugout, the whole rescue defined by an owner too stubborn to accept the help.

The Dugout appears to still be operating near Wrigley Field, but the evidence is thin. The owner reverted from the Press Box rebrand back to the original name, and a Yahoo Local aggregation showed the 950 West Addison Street address open with populated weekly hours, but that is a dynamic result with no static citable URL, and a direct Yelp fetch returned a block. That weak positive signal falls short of confirmation, so the status is held at low confidence, the Wrigleyville sports bar presumed still open but not independently verified this pass.
