What happened on the show
Taffer had his work cut out at The Chicken Bone, a 4,200-square-foot Framingham bar at 358 Waverly Street where the owner was his own worst enemy. A run of bad decisions had strained both the business and his finances, and underneath it all sat a refusal to trust the manager he had hired to help, so the room drifted while its owner second-guessed everyone but himself. The rescue leaned on getting him to loosen that grip and let capable people actually do their jobs, the kind of ego problem the show has met many times over. The makeover modernized the space and rebranded it as The Bone, a tightened version of the old name meant to signal a fresh start without throwing away the recognition the bar had built. As with several early rescues, though, the reveal exposed the real question, whether an owner who could not trust his own staff would trust the new plan any longer than the cameras stayed.
After the cameras left
The Bone reverted to the original Chicken Bone name after the show, and the bar is no longer in business. Nailing down the closure has proven difficult: a single Gazette Review retrospective is the only secondary source, and direct-fetch checks against Yelp, MapQuest and restaurantguru all failed during research, keeping confidence low.
