What happened on the show

An owner's bitter attitude and his habit of blaming his ex-wife for every problem forced Taffer to work around him entirely. At Plush in Glenside, the rescue leaned on that former wife, once the bar's manager, to help turn the room around, since the owner's constant finger-pointing made him useless as a partner in his own recovery. She watched the recon alongside Taffer, providing the clear-eyed read the owner could not, walking him through the problems the man himself refused to own. The makeover reopened the venue as Osteria Calabria, an Italian-leaning rebrand meant to give the failing bar a coherent new concept and a real kitchen identity rather than the aimless drinking room it had become. The bet was that the ex-wife's competence and a genuine concept could steady a business its owner kept sabotaging with blame, if he would let the changes stand once the cameras left.

After the cameras left

Plush closed for good in May 2015 when the building was sold. Glenside Local, an independent hyperlocal outlet, confirmed via direct fetch that the room shut after the sale, with the owner himself quoted rebutting the popular belief that Bar Rescue killed it, saying the business was already on its way out. The final pre-closure name was The O.C. Bar and Bistro, after an intermediate Osteria Calabria phase, and a Japanese restaurant, Nagomi, now occupies the 256 North Keswick Avenue space. Confidence is medium, the closure and succession directly sourced.
