MT Bottle
Murfreesboro, Tennessee
No longer open. It has closed in 2019. The site is now home to Domino's Pizza.
The short answer
Bar/lounge; kept the 'MT Bottle' name through Bar Rescue and its 2016 revisit episode. Owner reportedly died in 2019 and the bar closed roughly six months later (per a Reddit account). Independent local news (Boro Pulse, a Murfreesboro TN news/culture outlet) directly confirms a Domino's Pizza opened at the exact former address, explicitly naming MT Bottle as the prior occupant.
What happened on the show
A Tennessee bar with no liquor license carried a stack of problems, from severe sanitation issues in the kitchen and basement to female bartenders who routinely flashed customers, all under an owner celebrated for his ingenuity who left every bit of the hands-on work to his wife. MT Bottle in Murfreesboro drew a local country crowd, and performer Big Smo, who used to play the room, joined Taffer to watch the recon before turning up again at the relaunch. The stress test nearly produced an injury, with mixologist Russell Davis almost going down on the bar's slippery floor. Taffer's rescue pushed the owner to actually run his own business rather than lean on his wife, cleaned up the health hazards, and reopened the room under a new name, Bottles and Cans, though the venue kept trading as MT Bottle through the show's 2016 revisit as well.
After the cameras left
MT Bottle held on for years before an off-camera tragedy ended it. The owner reportedly died in 2019, and the bar closed roughly six months later. Boro Pulse, a Murfreesboro news and culture outlet, put the closure beyond doubt, confirming that a Domino's Pizza opened at the exact former address, 3940 Shelbyville Highway, and naming MT Bottle as the prior occupant, a directly fetched local-news source that carries the closure at high confidence. The bar's own Facebook page has gone dormant, and its room now sells pizza.
