Celebrities Sports Grill

Yucaipa, California

CLOSED

Closed. The business shut its doors.

What happened after

Renamed "The Victory Bar" after the S5E4 rescue. Yelp's listing for the original Yucaipa address states "Yelpers report this location has closed." (A same-named but unrelated Celebrities Sports Grill exists in San Bernardino -- not this business.)

What happened on the show

Brothers Max and Ryke, both former Defense Department contractors deployed overseas, ran Celebrities Sports Grill, with Ryke severely wounded by a grenade abroad. The trouble was Max, who had built a hostile reputation with the local community over social media, driven by controversy around a homeless-veterans fund. Taffer sent in a group of patrons Max had publicly attacked online, and Max's defiance turned the crowd against him as he refused to admit any fault. Taffer then began a genuine process of conflict resolution, giving Max the chance to apologize to his staff, and the next night community members were invited back and voted to support him after a real change in attitude and service. The renamed, renovated bar reopened as The Victory Bar to a warm local reception, the rescue built as much on reconciliation as renovation.

After the cameras left

The Victory Bar has since closed. Yelp's listing for the original Yucaipa address reports that the location has closed, which holds the ending at medium confidence, and a same-named but unrelated Celebrities Sports Grill in San Bernardino is a different business, not this one. The reconciliation Taffer brokered gave the room a warm relaunch, but Max's bar did not survive long-term: whatever goodwill the community vote restored, The Victory Bar eventually shut its doors in Yucaipa.
