What happened on the show

Taffer uncovered a straightforward fraud at a Raleigh nightclub, the kind that quietly poisons a business from behind the bar. An immature, party-minded manager was refilling premium liquor bottles with cheap alcohol and pocketing the gap in quality, cheating customers who thought they were paying for the good stuff. Cashmere, a martini club on the Glenwood South strip, needed its owner to stop looking away and start holding that manager and the rest of the staff accountable before the scam gutted whatever trust the room had left. The rescue put the deception on the table and pressed the owner to reassert control over people who had been running the place for their own benefit. Taffer reopened the club as Duael Ultra Nightclub, a stylized name blending dual and duel, meant to relaunch the room with honest practices behind the bar. The bet was that clean pours and real accountability could rebuild a club that had been trading on watered-down premium liquor.

After the cameras left

The relaunch did not take. Cashmere, rebranded, closed within roughly a year, with its Facebook activity trailing off around May 2014. Yellow Pages lists the location closed and a Yelp mirror shows it shuttered as of an October 2024 update, though the specific Yelp URL was not independently captured, holding confidence at medium. Local station WRAL had covered the original makeover and rebrand. A club built on watered-down premium liquor did not find its footing once the trick was exposed.
