Capo's Italian Cuisine

Las Vegas, Nevada

RENAMED

It rebranded and carried on. It now goes by Capo's Restaurant & Speakeasy.

What happened after

Rebranded as an Italian steakhouse/mob-themed speakeasy; matches the episode title 'Not Your Godfather's Speakeasy' (S8E2).

What happened on the show

Taffer set out to save a legendary Las Vegas speakeasy and restore it to its pre-pandemic glory. Capo's Italian Cuisine, a mob-themed Vegas institution owned by Nico Santucci, had a storied reputation to live up to, and the rescue worked to bring the restaurant and its bar back to the standard that reputation implied. The venue carried a bit of reality-TV history of its own, having previously been featured on Food Network's Mystery Diners in 2013. The intervention followed the show's arc of scrutiny, confrontation and renovation, and the episode, titled around a speakeasy theme, leaned into the room's clandestine, old-world identity, betting that a return to form could restore one of the city's more distinctive dining rooms. With a mob-themed reputation and a prior turn on another reality show, Capo's arrived with a public identity most rescues lack, which raised both the stakes and the scrutiny.

After the cameras left

Capo's is still operating, under a refreshed identity. It rebranded as Capo's Restaurant and Speakeasy, an Italian steakhouse and mob-themed speakeasy at 5675 West Sahara Avenue, owned by Nico Santucci, matching the episode's speakeasy framing, and holds a 4.2 Yelp rating across roughly 2,900 reviews, which puts the status at high confidence as a renamed survivor. The legendary Vegas speakeasy kept its doors open and its distinctive concept intact, landing this one firmly among the survivors of the show's eighth season.
