Alex Polizzi's series 5 attempt to help the Sunnyside Hotel in Blackpool ran into a wall the episode named plainly: the owners planned a huge refurbishment to lift a dismal occupancy rate, but refused to take on her suggestions. That resistance is the heart of the case. Polizzi could diagnose the problems of a struggling seaside bed and breakfast readily enough, but a rescue only works if the proprietors act on it, and here they preferred their own plan.
