What happened on the show
Alex Polizzi travelled to Falmouth in series 9 to help Harry and Mark, a father and son, with their country house hotel of around twenty-nine bedrooms struggling with low occupancy and low profits. The mismatch between the hotel's scale and its trade frames the case: a sizeable Cornish country house whose costs demanded far higher occupancy than it was achieving. Polizzi's task was to lift the bookings and tighten the operation so the property could carry its own weight, and to help a father and son run it as a coherent business. The subtropical gardens and coastal setting gave her real assets to work with if the fundamentals could be righted. Harry and Mark's under-occupied country house aired in August 2012, and the show returned in 2014 to a property now trading confidently as Hotel Meudon.
After the cameras left
Meudon came through and trades on today as Hotel Meudon, with subtropical gardens and private beach access at Bream Cove near Falmouth. Its official site is live with 2026 booking dates and recent awards displayed, a firm sign of current operation. The name has been shortened in the current branding, but it is the same property and entity, so this is not a rename so much as a tightening of identity. The show returned for a 2014 revisit. Harry and Mark's under-occupied country house is now a well-run Cornish hotel.
