What happened on the show

Series 14 broke new ground: for the first time, Alex Polizzi tackled two hotels at once. One was the Horse and Hound Country Inn, a 300-year-old coaching inn built in 1701 with nine en-suite bedrooms, which our records place, correcting a spine error, in Bonchester Bridge in the Scottish Borders rather than England. The other was Tenison Towers Guest House in Cambridge, named in the episode but not tracked as its own entry here. Handling two struggling properties in a single visit stretched Polizzi's method across very different settings, and her task at the Scottish inn was to convert a genuinely historic coaching house into a trade that could fill its rooms year-round. The two-at-once experiment aired in June 2018, pairing this Scottish Borders inn with Tenison Towers Guest House in Cambridge in a single visit.

After the cameras left

The Horse and Hound is open and trading, a 300-year-old coaching inn with nine en-suite bedrooms at Bonchester Bridge near Hawick in the Scottish Borders. Its official site is live with a booked November quiz-night listed and current seasonal events, and takes bookings through a direct system as of 2026. The spine records this property under England, but it is firmly in Scotland, confirmed by the episode's own description of a Scottish Borders inn and the site's address. The historic inn Polizzi visited in her two-at-once experiment remains a healthy going concern.
