What happened on the show
Glangrwyney Court presented Alex Polizzi with a paradox in series 5: despite a five-star rating and reasonable occupancy, the Black Mountains guest house was bleeding cash alarmingly. She was taken aback by how little owner Christina charged for the rooms, an underpricing that no amount of bookings could offset. The bridal suite left her unimpressed, with a plastic doll in a cot and clutter smothering the bedroom and bathroom, and she was startled further by the number of erotic paintings and ornaments on display. The case was less about quality than about commercial sense and presentation: a genuinely well-rated house losing money because it sold itself too cheaply and dressed itself oddly, and Polizzi pushed on both fronts. The underpriced, cluttered guest house aired in August 2009, and the show returned in a 2015 Returns special to see how it had fared.
After the cameras left
Glangrwyney Court is still trading. The Grade II listed Georgian country house, set in some thirty-three acres near Crickhowell in the Welsh Black Mountains, carries active booking listings as of 2026. No official site was fetched directly, so the open status is held at medium confidence, but the picture is of a going concern. The show thought enough of the case to return in a 2015 Hotel Inspector Returns visit. The underpriced, cluttered guest house Polizzi found seems to have kept going in the years since.
