What happened on the show

Rich and Jeanie ran 12 Grapes, a wine bar and live music venue in Peekskill, and Degel's stakeout there was framed with a wink at all the complaining he expected to hear. The hidden cameras captured the floor when management assumed no one was watching, and as aired the footage gave Degel a documented picture of how the room and its performances actually operated. His confrontation used that evidence to press the owners on consistency and the systems the venue lacked, while his fixes brought the familiar reset of standards. The stakeout leaned on the format's core logic, using surveillance to show owners the gap between the lively, beloved venue they imagined and the operation the cameras actually recorded on a given night.

After the cameras left

12 Grapes has closed. The Journal News reported in August 2018 that, after more than a decade, thousands of live performances, and a wall of local awards, the Peekskill wine bar and music venue had closed its doors, with the final day that August at the North Division Street address. The detailed local news report makes this a high confidence closure. A beloved live music room that ran a long, full run before winding down.
